Sage X3

The Sage X3 template provides a ready-to-use set of data models, views, dashboards, and workbooks. Choose the installation approach that best suits your organization's environment. Optionally, you can import users from Sage X3 into Nectari in a separate step after the initial installation.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites

Before you start, ensure you have:

  • Sage X3: A supported version installed.
  • Destination database: A target database, preferably matching your Sage X3 database collation.
  • DataSync: A supported version installed.
  • Installation package: The latest package downloaded from ShareFile.

Installation scenarios

Choose the path that matches your environment:

Via replicated data warehouseProduction data is replicated to a data warehouse using DataSync.

Nectari CloudData is synced to the Cloud via DataSync. The template connects to Cloud-hosted data warehouse. Credentials are provided after cloud provisioning is complete.For distributed teams or those preferring no local server maintenance.
Cubes configuration

If you want to use the Sales and Finance cubes, some installation steps require additional sub-steps. Follow the instructions in each scenario for details.

Installation steps

Scenario 1: Direct production database access

Perform these steps on Nectari:

  1. Set up the data sources in Nectari
  2. Import the template
  3. Build and load OLAP cubes
  4. Import users to Nectari (Optional)

Scenario 2: Via replicated data warehouse

Use DataSync for replication, then configure Nectari:

  1. Create the source connection
  2. Create the destination connection
  3. Configure the global variable
  4. Import the synchronization extraction
  5. Import the cube extractions
  6. Schedule the extraction
  7. Set up the data sources in Nectari
  8. Import the template
  9. Build and load OLAP cubes
  10. Import users to Nectari

Scenario 3: Cloud

Use DataSync to send your data to the Cloud and complete setup online:

  1. Create the source connection
  2. Create the destination connection
  3. Configure the global variable
  4. Import the synchronization extraction
  5. Import the cube extractions
  6. Schedule the extraction
  7. Import the template
  8. Build and load OLAP cubes
  9. Import users to Nectari (Optional)
