Reset Button for the Writeback

When you configure the Writeback Wizard in a workbook, you can add a Reset button to the sheet. Clicking it restores the workbook to its opening state, discarding all changes made since it was last opened from the navigation panel. It's the equivalent of closing the workbook without saving, then reopening it.

Opening state is not the same as last saved state. It's the state of the workbook the last time it was opened from the navigation panel. If you save changes while the workbook is still open and then click Reset, those saved changes are lost too.

The button is added through the Action Button Wizard in the Analysis tab. You need to configure the Writeback Wizard first.

tip

To make changes permanent before resetting, save the workbook, close it, then reopen it from the navigation panel. That reopened state becomes the new opening state.

When to reset data
